KISS

I have heard the Keep It Simple formula stated in many forms, but I am just realizing that the KISS theory is one that has been largely ignored within online learning venues. Too much information confuses me. When I have to turn from one task to another I feel like I'm dangling from a rope (tied around my throat) and twisting in the breeze. It would be interesting to use survey monkey to find out if this is a phobia of mine or if others feel this way. This thought was triggered by Stanford's courselets.

Kath,
Unfortunately, I have found that the very nature of the Internet lends itself to information overload. The whole "linking" phenomenon can transport one to so many different sites that overload (and a plethora of open windows) is a real hazard.

I think that the use of Webquests is one example of how some have tried to prevent overload while still taking advantage of the ability to link to a variety of information.

Elaine,
Maybe I'm being simple, but what is a Webquest?
